Children’s Adventure Zone & Quest at NorseForged Gathering 6

Greetings, adventurers!

Here at NorseForged, we’ve been working behind the scenes to prepare for the 6th Gathering of Nerds, and we are beyond excited to share something brand new for this year’s event. For the first time ever, NorseForged Gathering 6 will feature a Children’s Adventure Zone and Quest!

We were blown away by how many little warriors joined us at Gathering 5, and we knew we wanted to make this next Gathering even more Halfling-friendly. We’re excited to share a bit more about what you and your young adventurers can expect. And don't forget, kids 10 and under get in free!

Beginning the Quest

When you arrive at the Adventure Zone, your first stop will be OakenLake’s tent, conveniently located near the Fae Guild, making it easy to find. Upon arrival, your little adventurers will be greeted by a quest giver who will provide everything they need to begin their journey.

Each Norseling will receive a Quest Journal, which includes a map of the camp—perfect for navigating the realm if you happen to get turned around. At the OakenLake tent, there will also be a crafting table, where for a small fee, Norselings can create their own trinkets or adventure items to carry with them throughout the weekend.

The Quest itself is themed around learning the basics of Dungeons & Dragons, introducing concepts such as character classes, stats, and how leveling works in tabletop role-playing games.

We’re also excited to announce a brand-new resource available for purchase:
The Norseling’s Guide to Tabletop Gaming.
This booklet serves as a beginner-friendly reference guide for children who want to learn how to get started with D&D. We are working to have it available for online purchase by May, so families can grab a copy early—or even if they can’t attend a Gathering in person but still want to introduce their kids to tabletop adventures. Whatever the reason, we hope it helps you and your little warriors begin epic journeys together.

The Adventure Zone & Activities

Once the Quest begins, it’s time for adventure! The Activity Zone will feature a variety of games that kids can enjoy solo or with their companions. Many activities are purely for fun—such as horseshoes, races, and play areas—while others that require rules or instructions will have clear signage posted.

While we want everyone to have an amazing time, please remember that children must be supervised to ensure safety in case of accidents. In addition to the Activity Zone, there will be hidden Quest activities scattered throughout the camp, and your trusty map will guide you to each one.

Completing the Quest

The Quest will send Norselings on an adventure throughout the campground, including encounters with Legendary Creatures hidden across the realm. Families are welcome to take their time completing the Quest on Friday and Saturday.

Once a little warrior has completed their Quest, they may return to the OakenLake tent to receive their official invitation to join the NorseForged Nerd Army.

The Nerd Army represents warriors who understand that one of the bravest things you can do is be gentle—with yourself and with others. It stands for embracing fantasy and adventure, being guardians to those who need protection, and spreading nerdiness (and Fruit Rollups) throughout the land.

The Knighthood Ceremony

When Norselings are ready for knighthood, they will have a dismissal ceremony on Friday and Saturday nights. Each Norseling will be called forward to kneel and will then be officially recognized as a Warrior and Knight of the NorseForged Nerd Army.

We can’t wait to knight many Norselings at NorseForged Gathering 6, and we’re honored to help your family set sail on adventures filled with magic, imagination, and fantasy.

Until next time, adventurers!
