Camping at NorseForged Gathering 6

Live the Saga, Respect the Land

Camping at NorseForged Gathering 6 is more than just a place to sleep — it’s a core part of the experience. From late-night fires and shared stories to waking up surrounded by fellow adventurers, camping allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world we’re creating together.

NorseForged Gathering 6 takes place May 22–24, 2026, at Camp John J. Barnhardt in New London, North Carolina. Nestled in the woods, the campground becomes a living extension of the festival — and with that comes both magic and responsibility.

Camping Passes: How Overnight Stays Work

If you plan to stay overnight at NorseForged Gathering 6, you must have a camping pass. No exceptions.

There are two ways to get a camping pass, depending on how you want to camp:

Option 1: Ticket With Camping (Primitive Camping)

  • Purchase a ticket with camping included
  • Comes with 1 camping pass
  • For primitive camping
  • You bring your own tent and gear

Option 2: Ticket Without Camping + Premier Tent Rental

  • Purchase a ticket without camping
  • Add on a Premier Tent Rental
  • Comes with 2 camping passes
  • Premier tents are pre-set and designed for 2 adults

This option is perfect if you want a ready-to-go setup and plan to camp with a partner.

A True Woodland Camping Experience

All camping at NFG6 is primitive woodland camping. This means:

  • No RVs or campers
  • No permanent hookups
  • A genuine outdoor experience surrounded by forest

Camping passes allow you to stay on site for the full weekend, keeping you close to the action and connected to the community day and night.

For those who want a little extra ease, premier tent options may be available, offering raised platforms and pre-set tents while still maintaining the immersive, rustic feel of the event.

Getting Your Gear to Camp: Plan Ahead

To protect the grounds and keep the event space safe and immersive, vehicles will NOT be permitted on the event grounds or in camping areas.

Because of this, we strongly recommend bringing a wheeled wagon or cart to help transport your gear between parking and your campsite.

Distance from parking lot to the closest camp is about 414 yards and the furthest is about 989 yards.

Primitive Camping vs. Premier Tent Rentals

Choose Your Path at NorseForged Gathering 6

NorseForged Gathering 6 offers two distinct ways to camp, each designed to support different comfort levels while keeping the immersive, woodland atmosphere intact. Whether you prefer full self-reliance or a ready-to-go setup, there’s an option for you.

Primitive Camping

Primitive camping is the classic, bring-your-own-gear experience.

This option is ideal for adventurers who:

  • Enjoy traditional camping
  • Want full control over their setup
  • Don’t mind a little extra preparation

What to expect:

  • You bring your own tent, bedding, and camp gear
  • Campsites are set in the woods with natural terrain
  • Primitive toilets are available near each campsite
  • Shared fire pit at each campsite
  • Firewood is provided by the event (no outside firewood allowed)
  • Access to modern bathhouses with toilets, showers, and potable water elsewhere on the property

Primitive camping offers maximum flexibility and immersion — perfect for seasoned campers, groups with custom setups, or those who enjoy building their camp from the ground up.

Premier Tent Rentals

Premier Tent Rentals offer a more convenient option while still keeping you in the heart of the camping experience.

This option is ideal for attendees who:

  • Want to travel lighter
  • Prefer a ready-made setup
  • Are newer to camping or attending from farther away

What to expect:

  • A pre-set canvas tent on a raised wooden platform
  • A sturdy, weather-ready shelter waiting for you on arrival
  • Located within the same woodland campsite areas
  • 2 Camping passes included with the rental
  • Easy access to fire pits, firewood, and bathhouse facilities

Premier tents remove the stress of setup and breakdown, letting you focus on the gathering, the community, and the experience.

⚔️ Which Should You Choose?

Choose Primitive Camping if you:

  • Love building your own camp
  • Already own camping gear
  • Want maximum flexibility and customization

Choose Premier Tent Rental if you:

  • Want a simple, turn-key option
  • Prefer less gear and less setup
  • Want comfort without sacrificing immersion

No matter which you choose, all campers share the same core expectations:

  • Pack in / pack out is essential
  • Fire safety is mandatory
  • Respect for the land and fellow campers comes first

Facilities & Water Access

While camping is primitive, basic modern facilities are available across the property:

  • There are three brick buildings located at different points on the grounds
  • Each building includes modern toilets and showers
  • Potable (drinkable) water is available at these buildings

In addition to the brick facilities:

  • Each campsite also has access to primitive toilets nearby

These amenities allow campers to balance comfort and immersion while still respecting the rustic nature of the event.

Fire, Fellowship, and Camp Life

Every campsite at NorseForged Gathering 6 will include a shared fire pit, giving campers a place to gather, cook simple meals, warm up, and share stories beneath the stars.

You may also bring your own above-ground, free-standing fire container if you prefer a personal fire setup at your campsite.

Firewood Policy (Important)

  • Firewood will be provided by the event
  • NO outside firewood is permitted

This policy protects the local ecosystem and helps prevent the spread of invasive insects and disease.

Fire Safety Is Essential

Fires are a cherished part of camp life — and they must be treated with care and respect.

  • Fires must remain contained at all times
  • Never leave a fire unattended
  • Follow all event rules and staff instructions

Before going to sleep, ALL fires must be completely out

  • Douse with water
  • Stir the ashes
  • Douse again
  • Ensure there is no remaining heat or embers

Fire safety protects the forest, your fellow campers, and the future of NorseForged Gathering.

Pack In / Pack Out — THIS IS ESSENTIAL

NorseForged Gathering 6 is a strict pack in / pack out event.

We are renting this property, and leaving it in the same condition we found it is critical to:

  • Respecting the land
  • Maintaining our relationship with the site
  • Ensuring future NorseForged Gatherings

Everything you bring with you must leave with you.
This includes:

  • Trash and food waste
  • Packaging
  • Broken gear
  • Decorations
  • Fire debris or ash (if applicable)

Bring trash bags and plan ahead. Leave No Trace is not optional — it is part of the NorseForged code.
